Governance

Nominating / Intake

Nominating / Intake is an ad hoc process under the Secretary for SIRiiM, an Institute program. Its seats are VACANT pending Board / Clay designation. The process is internal: interest is reviewed into a slate, Clay Hess / Institute Board clears named people and roles, and any invite drafts remain HOLD.

Mission

  • Maintain the internal interest-to-slate workflow.
  • Review role fit, COI disclosures, and overlap limits for officer and committee roles.
  • Prepare recommendations for Board / Clay review; do not announce seating or send invitations.
  • Keep Awards / Fellowships separate; that lane is HOLD and has no intake.

Seats (VACANT)

Seat / workstream Status
NOM Chair (often the Secretary) VACANT (1)
Board members on slate panel VACANT (2–3; Board / Clay designation required)
Diversity / early-career advocate VACANT (1; Board / Clay designation required)

Planning target: 3–4 seats. This is a governance process, not a public election or public call.

Process guardrail

Internal interest → Nominating / Intake slate → Clay Hess / Institute Board clearance → invite draft → send only after the named recipient and message are cleared. Outside outreach remains HOLD.

How bots work with seated people

Institute bots work with each seated person on ops, coordination, drafts, and tracking; humans retain scientific and governance judgment. The default is a committee-level bot liaison. Personal bots require a named person and Clay Hess clearance. No PHI. Outside sends remain Clay-cleared only.

Interest (internal)

Use the internal volunteer interest form: /governance/volunteer

Submit interest (internal) — no public application or seating claim is implied.

Parent and guardrails

SIRiiM — International Society for Radiation Immunity and Immuno-Modulation, no Oxford comma — is an Institute program of the CureRays Innovation & Education Institute (501(c)(3)). Parent site: curerays.org. Clinic (curerays.com) is not the parent brand. SIRiiM makes no PubMed or Scopus claims. Awards remain HOLD.
